Direct Flight Routes from Malaysia to Vietnam

See which Malaysian airports connect to which Vietnamese airports.

Kuala Lumpur International Airport lists Da Lat, Da Nang, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc among its Vietnam destinations1. The table below adds the other Malaysian airports and the airlines listed on each route.

Schedules change, so treat this table as a map of what is listed. The airline is the source to check for days, times and whether a route is running.

Batik Air Malaysia is listed on both the Kuala Lumpur to Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur to Da Nang routes11. Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Johor Bahru each list Ho Chi Minh City as their only Vietnam destination.

Which places have no listed direct flight?

Kuching International Airport lists no Vietnam destinations or Vietnamese airlines12. Cat Bi airport in Haiphong lists no Malaysian airlines or destinations13. Phu Bai airport in Hue has no direct international routes14.

If you want Hue, Da Nang is the nearest international airport, 80 km south of Phu Bai15. A flight to Da Nang plus a road or rail transfer is how that plan is built.

How do I use it when planning?

Pick the Vietnamese city you want to start in, find your nearest Malaysian airport in the first column and see which airlines are listed. Then ask those airlines for the days, times and fares for your dates.

  • Open-jaw tickets (flying into one city and home from another) work well for north to south routes, because they save a long backtrack.
  • Choosing an arrival city: the arrival city guide compares Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
  • Pricing: put the fare you are quoted into the budget builder.
  • Pillar page: the flying from Malaysia hub collects the related guides.
  • Entry rules: confirm them through the official sources guide.

How we built this table

Each row is a fact in our dated fact bank, taken from Wikipedia airport pages that list airlines and destinations. The marker after each row opens its record in the facts list on this page, with the source link and the date checked, 16 October 2026.

Airline lists are volatile. Airlines start and stop routes, and the pages we read note that a list may be incomplete. We recheck volatile facts before each season and others every six months, and we show no flight times, durations or fares because they are not in our fact bank.

If you spot a route that is missing or no longer running, message us on WhatsApp and we will recheck the source. See our editorial policy for how corrections work.

If you are weighing two arrival cities, tell us your leave dates and which Malaysian airport suits you, and we will suggest an arrival and departure plan to check with the airlines.

Common questions

Is this the full list of flights from Malaysia to Vietnam?

No, it is the list our sources show, and one source notes that its list may be incomplete. Use the table to see which airports and airlines to ask about, and confirm the days, times and whether the route is running with the airline before you plan around it.

Why are there no flight times or fares in the table?

Because they change often and are not in our fact bank, and we only print figures we can date and source. Ask the airline for today's times and fares, then put the fare into the budget builder to see your trip total.

I live in Penang, Johor Bahru or Kota Kinabalu. What are my options?

The sources list AirAsia flying from each of these airports to Ho Chi Minh City. For other Vietnamese cities such as Hanoi or Da Nang, you could connect through Kuala Lumpur. Check the airline for current routes and connection times.

How do I reach Hue if there is no direct international flight?

Fly into Da Nang, the nearest international airport, which is 80 km south of Phu Bai airport in Hue. From there a road or rail transfer takes you to Hue. The arrival city guide and the north versus central guide help you plan the legs.
